meet the band
BRANDT BEDARD · Guitar and Vocals
Brandt Berdard is a self taught guitarist/ singer songwriter of 14 years, from Canterbury Connecticut. His earliest influences were bands from the grunge scene such as Nirvana and The Pixies. Then he progressed to the blues and began to focus very seriously on fine tuning his playing and singing. He is heavily influenced by players like Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes, as well as more classic players like David Gilmour. Before Circadian Rhythm, Brandt played in The Ms. Marci Band, The Hillbilly Graham-Crackers, The Dealers, The Generations Band, Bonnis Herd, and Southern Bastard Church.
Favorite moment playing guitar: Jammed with Levon Helm at one of his "Midnight Rambles."
My Goal: To play all over the world, even if it means making only a modest living.
ADAM SMITH · Bass and Vocals
Yo, check it: My name is Adam J Smith (the J is silent). I am from Putnam Connecticut and currently live on the mecca-center of the world — Batty Street. I am the bassist for three bands right now, this one being Circadian Rhythm (Eclectic Originals/Covers), another being Influenza, my first real band, made up of my cousin Ryan Manning and Circadian Rhythm's Mike (House) Aubin. Thirdly I am in the money-making machine/family band called "Generations." Get your crap together and check out these bands.
My influence are Noel Redding, Billy Cox (Hendrix), Cliff burton (Metallica), Robert Deliro (S.T.P), Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Famtomas), Les Claypool, John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), and of course Buck-Buck Jones (Buck-Buck Jones).
Love, Adam
DEREK JOLY · Saxophone, Flute, Effects
The latest addition to Circadian Rhythm, Derek joined up with the group in early 2007. Adding woodwinds and various effects, he has brought more layers and sounds to this already eclectic project. Circadian Rhythm was a great addition to Derek's already music-filled life. Aside from exciting nights of rip roarin' music, Derek spends his days teaching woodwinds throughout Connecticut, and living out of his car to complete the full "musician's lifestyle."
Music influences include almost any sound, inclusive of jazz, rock, reggae, jam bands, world, classical, avant-garde, and hip-hop. Derek can also be found on 91.7FM WHUS, UConn's "Radio for the People," sharing some of today's newest music from upcoming artists. Overall, just keepin' it peaceful and positive.
MIKE "HOUSE" AUBIN · Drums and Percussion
Music, to me, is everything. It has been the driving force within me for the past 9 years. Music has been in my life since I started to play in the 7th grade. I have played with many bands (TBD, Lifetribe, The Drunkin' Superheros, Influenza, Revised Reality) and feel I've reached a level of playing in which I am pleased with. I play on a Pearl Export drum set with a mix between Zildjian and Sabian cymbals. I really dig jazz and funk, and thus most of my influences come from jazz and funk drummers. Aside from drums I also enjoy playing guitar and bass. Working with this particular band has helped to really remain open-minded in all of my playing. Without music, I don't know what I would do with myself.
